Occupational Therapy

We assist you to take part in everyday life activities

Occupational therapy (OT) provides support to people whose health or disability makes it hard for them to do the things they would like to do.

An occupational therapist can identify your strengths and difficulties, help with solutions, and assist you to take part in everyday life activities. We offer occupational therapy services for adults and child occupational therapy, providing screenings, observation sessions, assessments, direct intervention, and consultancy services.

We engage in functional and meaningful activities, aimed at improving attention/concentration, fine and gross motor skills, visual perception, self-care skills, or any underlying sensory processing abilities.

Occupational therapists can help you maintain, regain or improve your independence by using different techniques, changing your environment and using new equipment.

Functional and meaningful activities

OTs work with people of any age, including elderly people and offer child occupational therapy for children, to help them do things that ‘occupy’ their time. These can include:

Put simply, we help with the process of getting you the right support from the right occupational therapist and work with you to achieve your goals.

What to expect from your OT session

When you make an appointment with our OT’s, your initial assessment will involve a session with the occupational therapist to find out how your illness, injury or disability is affecting you and your occupation – the everyday things we do to take care of ourselves and others; socialise and have fun; and work and contribute to our community/society.

When the assessment is complete, the occupational therapist will work with you to identify goals that Occupational Therapy can help you achieve. They will listen to what is important to you and see if they can either, help restore your ability to do your everyday occupations, or find another way of achieving your goal.
